 - We are a small, fast-paced startup that is working to advance the field of speech recognition technology and can use your help. We are currently in need of a large number of telephone speech recordings to train our speech recognition system and improve its recognition accuracy. If you speak and read English, we would appreciate you spending about 3 to 5 minutes of your time recording some prepared text for us using your telephone. We will provide the text and a toll-free number. You provide your speech. All of the recordings will be donated to the VoxForge open source project.

Terms and Conditions
  1. The text you will be asked to record has been obtained from the Enron E-mail Dataset, a database of corporate e-mails originally made public, and posted to the Web, by the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission during its investigation of Enron. This database comprises roughly 500,000 e-mail messages and is the largest database of its kind in the public domain. You understand that the content of the Enron e-mails have not been edited and have not been screened. It is possible that some may find a message derogatory, disturbing, and/or offensive. You waive any potential legal claims, hold harmless and will not attempt to hold Voice2Type liable for the content of the messages.
  2. By providing your speech audio, you assign to Voice2Type, at no charge, all worldwide rights, title, and interest in copyrights and other intellectual property rights to your submission. Voice2Type shall be free to use and/or disseminate your submission on an unrestricted basis for any purpose.
  3. You represent that you are of legal age in the jurisdiction where this site is being viewed and are at least 18 years of age in the US (21 in AL, MS, NE, and WY).
iPod Touch Giveaway Drawing Rules:
  1. Offered and open only to legal residents of the United States and Canada.
  2. Limit 20 entries per person.
  3. Speech submission must conform to the instructions explicitly.
  4. Winner will be drawn using a random number generator after a minimum of 1000 recordings have been submitted, or on June 30, 2008, whichever comes first. The odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received, but range from about 1 in 1000 to 1 in 25.
  5. Drawing will be cancelled if a minimum of 500 recordings have not been submitted by June 30, 2008.
  6. Winner will be notified by e-mail.
  7. Winner's first name and last initial will be posted on this Web page.
